Client

Content publishing organisation

Challenge

Time-consuming manual image preparation

Solution

Browser-based drag-and-drop resizer

Impact

Seconds instead of minutes per image

Situation

The organisation regularly published blog posts on its website, each requiring two different image sizes — a main image and a thumbnail. Staff without design backgrounds were finding it time-consuming and confusing to resize images manually, often relying on external tools that added unnecessary steps to the publishing process.

Task

The goal was to simplify the process of preparing images for upload, ensuring that anyone on the team — regardless of technical or design skill — could produce correctly sized images quickly and consistently.

Action

We developed a simple drag-and-drop web app that automatically resizes and exports images to the required dimensions. The tool was designed with accessibility and ease of use in mind, featuring clear labels, instant feedback, and outputs optimised for web performance. It was built using lightweight front-end code so that it could run directly in the browser, without installation or login.

Result

The new image resizer has eliminated the need for external software and reduced the time taken to prepare blog images from several minutes to a few seconds. Staff can now upload images confidently and consistently, improving workflow efficiency and maintaining a more visually consistent website.
